Ah- the legal mumbo jumbo!
Ok, so it’s necessary that I have one of these dealios to explain how I comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the DPA (Data Protection Act) and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) because we are all super careful and conscious about where our personal deets are kept and floating around the web ( or at least, we should be )
One good thing about all of this GDPR stuff is that it causes us small business owners to re-evaluate our systems and show some serious transparency.
Well, grab a cup of coffee or whatever and here goes…
Christine Capone Creative is a small business that serves entrepreneurs with totally gorgeous websites and brand designs. On occasion, I collect small tidbits of info in order to serve you better.
I collect and store the info we need to provide you with the service you buy from us. That’s pretty much it. Nothing evil. Just business.
I use a cool tool called Google Analytics to see what kind of website traffic I am getting. By using these stats, I am able to know what you like to see and what leaves you yawning.
Sometimes, if something is worth advertising, a Facebook tracking pixel will politely stalk you on the internet so that I can try to sell you stuff that relates to you.
There are blockers out there where you can choose to block the Facebook Pixel tracker do hickey, if you choose to not be stalked that way.
Neither of these things store any super personal data about you but probably they nab your IP address, not that I’d know where to look for it or what to do with it. All that I see is that a person or many people have interacted with the website in a particular way.
If you would like to NOT be tracked, just email me. It’s cool.
I do store some data in a few different places. I do nothing naughty with any of it. It just again, helps me keep in touch and stay in tune with what you like and don’t like.
If you sign up for a newsletter here or grab a free download, you will be added to an email list. I send out handy newsletters weekly ( or at least I plan to but sometimes I forget because I get too busy with projects ) Convertkit is compliant and handles your data with care.
I don’t actually sell physical products but I sometimes use Woo to handle things like ala carte service purchases. I don’t need your physical mailing address for this so..
Services that are offered on this website are paid for by using a third party payment system. I use both Square and PayPal so really, even though this site is secure via SSL, payment data is not stored here.
If you sign up for my free newsletter, I’ll send you a newsletter – generally around two a month, but occasionally more if there is more interesting stuff to tell you. I am admitting that I am super lazy with email marketing and all that jazz so don’t expect a TON of email from me.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button in every email. Your name and email address are stored securely in ConvertKit.
ConvertKit automatically adds tracking things to links so if you click on a link I KNOW. If you open an email I KNOW. If you ignore me I KNOW.
The most important thing about this is I have neither the time nor inclination to actually look at or do anything with these stats.
YOUR RIGHT TO BE DELETED
OK, so maybe you wanna be a super secret website person and don’t want me to track anything. Hey- it’s cool. Just send me an email and I will delete whatever it is that I have about you and your bad self.
Now, I can’t perform miracles so anything like PayPal or Square payment records are stored with the payment processor so you will have to deal with those guys for that.
AH! But if you are a client, we have done a contract and so this doesn’t mean that you can run off.
I use Social Media like a lot. I like to keep up with what is current and hip and I tend to make friends with my clients. So, if I see you on say FB or IG and give you a shout out or just say hello. It is just me being friendly- not me being a creepy stalker. Feel free to do the same.
