No matter where we are in life, it can feel like we have no control over it. Every day we wake in fear, struggling to stay focused enough to make it through the day. Come nighttime, we fall into a depression because others our running our lives for us.
It doesn’t have to be this way. You have the power to own your own life.
Take it back from others by practicing these ways of thinking.
Own your actions. Did you eat a donut even though you’re trying to eat healthier? Don’t blame the sale at the donut shop. Admit that you wanted it and bought it. By taking responsibility for all of your decisions, you almost immediately take back your life.
Bad things happen. There’s no getting around that, but you can’t allow these bad things to poison your life forever. You may have done some nasty things in the past. You might obsess over the little annoyances during the day. Let these go and embrace the good. Forgive yourself and move on.
You can’t expect to get anywhere in life when you have no direction. You’ll end up spinning around in circles. Instead of letting life take you where it will, drive yourself where you want to go, no matter how far away the destination.
If you take steps every day to bring yourself closer to your dream, you?ll eventually get there.
